Scaled Down

This model was made as a surprise birthday gift for the owners of the cottage in April 2010.  Honey Hill Cottage was built around 1700 in the village of Dry Drayton, near the university city of Cambridge, and has been the home of the present owners since the 1960s.

Beautifully situated at the edge of the village, looking out over uninterrupted views of typically English farmland, the cottage underwent a major addition to the original thatched portion in 1973 with the tiled roof section, which has provided increased living space.

This scaled down cottage was made here in New Zealand, from photographs surreptitiously supplied by the family of the owners. It was then carefully boxed and transported safely by air to its new owners.
