Scaled Down

20 Memorial Avenue in Christchurch was built in 1927 in the prevailing bungalow style of the time.  This house has an interesting history of previous owners, and at one time one of the occupants was caught behind enemy lines, only to be sent to one of the concentration camps in Poland.  The present owners have been here since 1987 and have enjoyed the spacious house with the fascinating upstairs room over the front door.

This was the first Scaled Down model, being our own family home, and it has sat comfortably on a shelf in the dining room for around five years.  This replica of a quintessential 1920s dwelling has often been the topic of conversation when friends arrive for dinner.
